ICARCV 2024
The 18th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision December 12-15, 2024. Dubai |
Message from Program Co-Chairs |
Warmest welcome to the 18th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (ICARCV 2024). With a history of more than 30 years, this conference brings together researchers and engineers from around the world to share their latest advances in the four domain areas of Control, Automation, Robotics and Computer Vision, and associated technologies cum applications of Internet-of-Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber-physical Systems, Data Analytics, Smart Vehicles, Smart Grids, Energy Management Systems, and Intelligent Buildings. This year, in the eponymous capital city of UAE, we are proud to present to you a rich technical program comprising 3 plenary presentations by world-renowned experts and 32 technical sessions covering latest developments in the focused areas of ICARCV. We have received a total of 189 contributed (including 10 extended abstracts) and 104 invited paper submissions, and these were carefully peer-assessed by our Technical Program Committee (TPC). Each paper received was reviewed by independent reviewers in related fields to provide valuable feedbacks to the authors and ensuring high confidence in the outcome of the review process. Each paper was rated on 6 criteria: theoretical, technological, educational, and survey tutorial contributions, relevance of application and clarity of presentation. Through the extensive review process, a total of 202 technical papers (including 8 extended abstracts) are assembled for presentation at the conference. We would like to thank the TPC members, associate editors and the independent reviewers for their timely, thorough, and constructive inputs. The final 202 papers are organized into 32 technical sessions, and we expect all authors to present their work in person at the beautiful conference venue. One of the highlights of ICARCV 2024 will be the presentation of Best Paper Awards to 2 outstanding technical papers which are to be selected from 10 candidates. The 10 Best Paper Award candidates were nominated by reviewers and TPC members. These were then assessed by ICARCV International Advisory members, and they will finally be evaluated by Best Paper Award committee members during their presentations at the technical sessions. On each morning of the ICARCV conference, there will be one plenary address and so there will be a total of 3 excellent plenary addresses to look forward to: Plenary in Robotics – “All-Terrain AUVs: A New Class of Marine Robots” by Professor Kristin Y. Pettersen (Norwegian Univ. of Science and Tech); Plenary in Cyber Physical Human Systems – “Emergent Behaviors and Collective Decisions in Cyber-Physical-Human Systems” by Professor Karl H. Johansson (KTH Royal Institute of Technology); and Plenary in Vision-based Robotics – “Vision-based 3D Perception and Manipulation of Robots” by Professor Yunhui Liu (Chinese University of Hong Kong). Do make sure that you are present to learn and interact with our renown keynote speakers. Finally, and most importantly, we would like to thank the plenary speakers, the authors and presenters of technical papers, for their excellent contributions that make this event a resounding success. We hope that you will have a fruitful and enjoyable conference!
